I have been thinking a lot about the topics that I want to write about on my blog. It was fairly easy to determine that Health and Wellness would be a category because I already write about mental wellness, and I am ultra aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. I also wanted to write about things that would really make a difference in my reader’s daily life. Since we think, move and eat all day long, I thought sharing ideas on these topics would be beneficial.
Cody and I are going to be celebrating our 10 year anniversary next summer. We have determined to go somewhere warm, full of white sandy beaches, good food, and fun outdoor activities. We have narrowed it down to Hawaii or somewhere in the Caribbean or Mexico. Regardless of where we go, I am going to use our vacation to fuel my health and wellness goals.
I joined a Beach Body group. My coach is a past college roommate (Karen Whyte) that is amazing at being fit and real. I took “before” pictures because I want to see the results of my work. Looking at myself was not easy, but it did help to motivate me. I don’t know about you, but I love to feel comfortable in my clothes and I am pretty sick of feeling like I need to “suck-in”. I want to feel strong; being able to keep up with my active family for a long time is super important to me. I also know that exercise can increase endorphins and improve energy; I desperately need both.
The other puzzle piece is meal planning because the loosing weight part is mostly connected to my food choices and portions. So, I also ordered Double Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld. I am excited to try the recipes and feel good about what I am feeding my family. I think I will also order her Deceptively Delicious cookbook too. Thankfully Beach Body also has nutrition plans and supplements to help with eating well.
I will be sharing Health and Wellness ideas on Saturdays. I encourage you to find your motivation for being more physically and mentally fit. I will share tips and my own personal journey.
Best,
Lucy Jo
