DIY Wall Art: Geometric Shapes I used a ruler with a perfect 90 degrees so I could place the tape evenly on the canvas. I used painters tape to outline the shapes, and a level to use as a width guide as I placed tape.

The paint mixing was tricky to get just the right demin-like blue. I had to create a slate blue with blue, fuchsia and yellow and then I added more blue and black to darken it.

This is how I placed the painters tape on the canvas.

The point of these triangles was to remind us of our beloved mountains in California and Nevada that we miss. I think I need to add another triangle in the bottom middle to keep it looking like a Star Trek symbol.

This is the canvas painted. I let it dry for about one hour.

They are on the wall and there is more to do to make it look right, but I was pleased with the look and the colors. Like it says in the photo,DIY Wall Art: Geometric Shapes I want to add a floating shelf and style it to match the room. I don’t know if the art I created if going to fit with the rest of the room, but for now it will stay.
