Today,Feels Like F-O-R-E-V-E-R Home Project I realized that I have been feeling like our basement renovation is almost done for over a month now. This is good and bad. The good thing is that I have been able to balance my desire to get things done with the reality of our busy life. The bad thing is that it has been a month and we are still not done. Like all good things, it will be gradual and quality.
On Monday night Cody and I finally tackled installing some of the flooring in the basement. We started around 7 pm and didn’t go to bed until around 11:30 pm. We finished the hardest parts of the room and the next day I paid dearly physically and mentally.Feels Like F-O-R-E-V-E-R Home Project I actually really enjoyed working on a project with Cody, but it was work and I am glad that part is done.

Anyone know what that circular thing is in a random spot in the space? |
Since then Cody has worked on the flooring one other time and I think the next time we devote a large chunk of time to it, we will be able to finish up and start in on the trim and baseboards. I am eagerly trying to find affordable storage for the room. I LOVE mid-century modern credenzas and I love Pottery Barn’s storage solutions too. Of course, World Market has beautiful sideboards too that would double for awesome storage for kids stuff. And I really like this Stockholm sideboard at Ikea.

Ikea Stockholm sideboard. So simple, functional and beautiful. |

Sarvanny Casual White Wood 3 Drawer Large Credenza. This would also fit the bill well with a farmhouse look, but I would want more of a contrast between the walls and the furniture piece. |
In the meantime, I did start another project I have been wanting to do. I saved a train table that we got the girls for Christmas one year because it is the perfect height for the little ones to play at. I do not like the train paper or the primary colors that are so common with kids stuff, so I covered it with a paper (from Joanns) that I like. I originally got the print thinking it was contact paper, but when I opened it I was disappointed. It is simply project paper and however pretty it is, I had to trace the table onto the paper, cut it and then Mod Podge it on. It is not perfect, but it is an improvement. I will be more willing to put the table out now.
