One of my goals in writing about Timeless Home Decor is to save home owners time and money. A home doesn’t have to change every time a favorite store launches a new line. I encourage everyone to fill your home with things that will serve you in each season of your life. I love new things, but I love beautiful timeless things much more. A lesson learned early in my life from my family was to take care of things and they will serve you for a long time.

Many home influencers talk about “shopping their home” to decorate or organize a space and all that means is that they have collected things they love, fit their style and tell a story and place each piece strategically. Sometimes that even means leaving it in a closet until a good place/need opens up. I don’t suggest you fill your closet for no reason, but having a small corner filled with things on hand that you love won’t hurt anything. (I admit that the closet space my decor fills up is bigger than a small corner;)

I have a few home decor items that are work horses and have decorated multiple homes over the years. These are the items that I want to share with you because they have high impact on coziness and beauty without having to tear down walls or paint. Yes, larger changes can transform a space too, but for this I will assume that you have a fairly good base to work with. I will never suggest people buy a bunch of smaller decor items when they really should be saving for new flooring, paint for walls or patching holes. Sometimes the big things take priority because no amount of vases will fix a room that is painted in a tragic color or carpet that looks 100 years old.
