May every mother feel loved and appreciated. The work of a mother is so important to the well-being of the present and the future. I want my children to know that, however hard motherhood is, I see the power and value of unselfishly serving others. So much of who I am is a direct result of the kindness and service of my mother and that her love is being passed on to them to share with their future children. I see the wiped noses, the changed diapers, the important conversations with children, the frustration, the tempers, the tears, the eaten and uneaten meals, the late nights, the sore nipples, the bandaids, the rocking. I feel it all in my bones. My wish is that every child will look to their mother and try to see all the messy work and feel loved and grateful that they tried.
My thoughts turn to all those who see motherhood through a different lens and I honor you.
I send joy and peace to you all!
Best,
Lucy Bowman
