Hello Friend!
It is October and my favorite season is in full swing! I have been drawn towards rich, warm colors lately and this living room design gets me excited. What do you think of my choices? One of my favorite things about interior decorating is being able to play with colors, textures and mood. As fall settles in, I feel the invitation to get cozy and find rest in a good chair with a good book. Speaking of books, if you want to read a good one, I just finished The Giver of Stars. I enjoyed most of the characters and the historical background of the novel is wonderful. I am always a fan of strong female protagonists and this one has a whole group of strong women (and men) to enjoy.

With the cooler weather I have also been thinking more about fall fashion. Sometimes I feel bad for caring about clothing because I know it is not the most important thing, but just like my home, what I wear is a way to be creative. Another thing that encourages me to pursue my interest in fashion without shame is an old high school journal that my kids dragged out of a box in the basemen just this week. I read about my love for color, texture, beauty and fashion, and I was so pleased that even at 14 or 15 years old, I knew what I loved. So, I will also be sharing a round up of my favorite fall fashion pieces. Enjoy!

Now the only thing I need to do to make it feel more like fall for me will be a trip to take pictures of fall leaves and my family. Wisconsin is a true gem when it comes to fall foliage and we need to document our family now that there is seven of us! I have been taking photos for families for my photography business Lucy Jo Photography as well and I have loved using the fall colors as a backdrop! I will share our family photos when they are done!
Here is my post on how to choose outfits for family pictures.
I hope you are enjoying the changing of seasons and finding ways to create traditions that make memories with your family. I turn 36 next month and I am ever aware that I and my family are getting older. I want to make memories because I take those with me. I hope you are investing in meaningful relationships and finding joy on the daily!
Love,
Lucy Bowman
