Decorate Wall Behind Sofa

Do you ever wonder how to decorate the wall behind the sofa? The space above my sofa in the playroom has been a difficult spot to decorate for me. Originally, I had three canvas paintings, that I created, hanging up, but I always knew I wanted to replace them with something bigger and more colorful.

I have had the pleasure of getting a beautiful large canvas print of Monet’s Wild Poppies from Photowall.com. The delivery of the print, instructions on how to assemble and the end result has been great! I have shared some of the photos of the canvas print above my sofa.
They have a large selection and you can even upload your own photos and have custom canvas prints or wallpaper created and sent to you.
I spent a lot of time on their website trying to choose the print or wallpaper that I wanted to get. I decided on this Wild Poppies because I love Monet, and I feel this painting has charm and whimsy that I certainly want in the playroom where my three girls dream and pretend. It makes me happy to see it because I imagine myself spending time with my girls leisurely enjoying life when I see these women and children enjoying a beautiful day outside among the flowers. The pillows are from Cost Plus World Market and Target. Rug is from Overstock.
I will eventually add some a side table, faux fiddle leaf fig tree and a lamp. For now though, I am very pleased with how it looks.
Here are some other ideas for decorating the wall behind your sofa.
Use a ledge made out of reclaimed wood and add your favorite decor and art pieces. Notice the symmetry with the mirrors on each side too. Source.
If you have a lot of art pieces that you love, create a gallery wall behind your sofa. Source.
Mirrors can be a beautiful addition behind the sofa. You can hang it on its own if it is big enough or, like this photo shows, add other art pieces with it. You could also put a console or sofa table behind and rest a mirror on the surface of the console/table with other art and decor. Source
