Since I have been sick, I have not been able to get as much done recently, so in my attempt to start the year right, I want to plan to have a plan with the best planners for moms.
I started getting Covid symptoms on Christmas Eve. Honestly, I barely got Christmas gifts wrapped and under the tree before crashing in my bed utterly exhausted. I am sitting here on Dec 30, still sick and about to take some steroids to help with my sore throat. Some of the symptoms I have had are aches, cough, congestion, fever, chills, and fatigue. Not only did I get Covid, but so did my husband and five kids. It has been very hard on everyone to not have any energy to do anything fun or anything at all.
Now the new year is sneaking up and I am sitting here just hoping to be healthy rather than my norm of getting my Christmas decorations put away and my house in order. I am having to change my perspective on my goals this year. I tend to get caught up in minutia sometimes, but since I am happy with simple things like taking a shower and being able to make a meal, my expectations of myself and my family are simpler this year.
My 2022 Goal and 2021 Reflection
My one goal this year is Financial Health. I must learn discipline in my spending and find ways to have joy within the means that we have. I want to choose gratitude and contentment for the job my husband has and for the comforts we enjoy. In a world where we can see what everyone else is doing, I want to close my eyes and simply create beauty in my own sphere with what I have. I keep telling myself that it is okay to have limitations because they force me to be creative. Choose 1-2 goals that mean something to you. I have more than one goal, but the one I just shared is one that will take a lot of my willpower and is certainly not easy for me. It is better to choose one good goal than have 10 that you make no progress on.
Last year I had a one word goal…Align. Looking back on 2021, for the most part, I feel like I was aligned and or I was always seeking to align my life and heart to the will of God. I brought my Bonnie girl into the world, made a very hard decision about my girls education, volunteered with a community organization, and continued to create beauty in my home whenever I could. I look forward to this new year and hope that I can commit to my new goal with determination.
So, in honor of starting a new year with intention, here are the planners that I was most impressed with during my personal research. I hope you find one you love and can stay organized and productive all year long.

Passionate Penny Pincher Home Planner-The pre-made lists in this planner are a big draw for me. I like have lists of things already created for me to check off. All of the examples of lists looked practical and well-thought out, especially for home organization. For someone who likes guidance, this planner appeals to me!
Purple Trail Mom Planner-This planner is super cool because it has a space for up to four children on the weekly portion of the planner. If your children keep you really busy and you need a place to keep track of it all, this planner delivers!
Unbound Planner– Last year I had a planner that was spiral bound and it drove me crazy. I have two babies and the planner was in several pieces by the end of the year. So, this year I want a hardbound planner that will take a beating. The Unbound planner is beautiful, quality and has great writing prompts and big picture planning areas. I am excited to try this one.
The Happy Planner-This is the most affordable of the planners I share, but it still has some great features like errands, get it done checklist, calls/emails, focus and notes. I also love the cover of this one.
