Sep 7, 2017DIYDIY Wall Art: Geometric Shapes Tools for the project: I used a ruler with a perfect 90 degrees so I could place the tape evenly on the canvas. I used painters tape to outline the shapes, and a level to use as a width guide as I placed tape. The paint mixing was tricky to get just the right demin-like blue. I had to create a slate blue with blue, fuchsia and yellow and then I added more blue and black to darken it. This is how I placed the painters tape on the canvas. The point of these triangles was to remind us of our beloved mountains in California and Nevada that we miss. I think I need to add another triangle in the bottom middle to keep it looking like a Star Trek symbol. This is the canvas painted. I let it dry for about one hour. This one took longer to dry because there was more space painted. Here is one of the canvas right after I pulled the tape off. End result for the mountains. They are on the wall and there is more to do to make it look right, but I was pleased with the look and the colors. Like it says in the photo, I want to add a floating shelf and style it to match the room. I don’t know if the art I created if going to fit with the rest of the room, but for now it will stay. What kinds of DIY projects are you working on? What do you put on your walls at home?
